HSD School Based Testing for Athletics
Hoquiam School District will be hosting walk-up COVID testing at Hoquiam High School and Hoquiam Middle School in compliance with WIAA requirements for testing and screening for high contact indoor sports athletes. Athletes in Basketball, Wrestling, and indoor cheer are required to be regularly tested regardless of vaccination status. Screening testing is to take place 3x’s a week and on days of competition or within 24 hours of a competition date. (e.g., athletes can test during the Friday afternoon testing session in order to compete in competitions on Saturday.) Any student that has a positive result is required to leave the venue/event as soon as possible and will be isolated until they can leave.
HSD will utilize the Premier Medical Group USA to provide rapid antigen testing to students, staff, and community members. Athletes and students may also be provided antigen testing from trained school based staff when PMG cannot provide testing. Once students are registered and consent is provided the testing process takes less than 1 minute to complete and results are available in about 15 minutes.
Community testing is available in the HHS Gym Foyer from 3:00pm - 7:00pm
